DONYALE LUNA: SUPERMODEL chronicles the remarkable life and career of Donyale Luna, the first Black model to grace the cover of both Harper’s Bazaar (1965) andVogue (1966). Breaking barriers in the fashion industry, challenging the prevailing ideals of beauty, and influencing culture in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Luna remains largely unknown despite her stunning body of work and her collaborations with some of the foremost fashion photographers of the 20th century.

Isoul Hussein Harris is a multifaceted writer, editor, producer, and strategist passionate about stories that shape culture. He has worked in media, education, publishing, tech, financial services, and travel, exploring more than 100 countries.

In 2023, the Morehouse College and New York University graduate debuted his first film as a producer—HBO’s DONYALE LUNA: SUPERMODEL, the story of the first Black model to grace Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue magazines.

He also served as the Executive Editor at Large for EBONY, leading the content creation for the unique, commemorative 2023 Issue celebrating Hip Hop’s 50 years of cultural disruption.

Harris previously led UPTOWN—a print and digital platform showcasing affluent Black life and celebrity during the Obama Years—where he featured artists, actors, philanthropists, legends, futurists, and iconoclasts such as Lenny Kravitz, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyongo, whose cover of UPTOWN marked her first significant collaboration with a Black photographer.

In 2021, Harris co-created and served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of Modern Luxury’s EDITION–an inclusive luxury lifestyle platform centered around Black global culture that he launched with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation. He built the content infrastructure of EDITION—praised by Women’s Wear DailyThe Business of FashionHypebeast, and Complex —focusing on innovative inclusivity, music, art, high fashion, and elevated narratives.

As the Deputy Editor of Mosaic—Morgan Stanley’s exclusive luxury lifestyle platform where he won Platinum MarCom Awards for Best Creative Magazine and Best Digital Magazine—and the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Surface—the American magazine for contemporary art and design—he developed experiential programming centered in global finance, film, art, travel, and fashion.

Harris resides in The Republic of Brooklyn.

With over fifteen years of experience in the lifestyle and luxury fashion industries, Donnell Baldwin has built a successful career as a Fashion & Style Director, Creative Consultant, Author and recently, Costume Design.

Donnell’s expertise in styling and fashion direction is well-established. He previously served as the US Online Styling Editor and Style Director for MR PORTER. His contributions played a crucial role in shaping the online styling presence of the brand.

Prior to his role at MR PORTER, Donnell held prominent styling positions, including a significant role as the Menswear Styling Manager for RalphLauren.com as well as RL wholesale marketing division. In this role, he not only managed styling operations but also represented Ralph Lauren as a brand ambassador for external e-commerce clients.

With his extensive experience and knowledge, Donnell brings a wealth of insights and creative vision to his current role as the Chief Creative Officer of Mr Baldwin Style a company Co-Founded with his wife, Courtney Arrington-Baldwin. He combines his expertise in fashion direction, styling, fashion writing, creative direction and brand representation to provide strategic guidance and innovative solutions to clients in the fashion and lifestyle sectors.
