2024 Youth Filmmakers Camp Description:

July 15 – 19, 2024, 1 pm-5 pm at Featherstone Center for the Arts

Campers will learn various video techniques such as video camera use, interviewing skills, musical video, creating public service announcements, and editing of video content. The camp will meet each day at Featherstone Center for the Arts and will use its spaces each day to create content, except for one day spent at MVTV to learn editing skills. Afternoon snacks will be provided to campers.

The Youth Filmmakers Camp is designed to introduce digital media literacy by way of learning Videography, Interviewing Techniques, Music Production, Public Service Announcements, Stop Motion, and Storytelling style of productions. Campers enter the exciting world of video production in this hands-on camp offered to Campers ages 11-14! Campers learn the operation of High Deﬁnition cameras and several different editing platforms to create programs that will be aired on MVTV’s Channel 13 and Channel 14! Students will receive their own DVD copy of their work at the end of camp. All materials are provided by MVTV.

COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS WILL BE IN PLACE

We are thrilled to be going back to summer camp! Of course, your children’s health and safety is our number one priority, so we will be keeping a close eye on the state’s health and safety protocols along with MV Board of Health protocols. We will be making sure that they are followed closely. These protocols may include (but not necessarily be limited to) mandatory masks during camp, social distancing, and enhanced sanitization procedures. These are subject to change depending on what the protocols are at the time.

Camp is limited to 12 campers. The cost is $300 for the week, however, we will offer two island student scholarships (contact Ann Smith at Ann@Featherstoneart.org for more information).
