Going out to the movies or attending a special event at the Film Center is a huge part of the quality of life we all enjoy so much here on the Vineyard.
However, in light of the circumstances related to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the directives issued by state and local health officials recently we are suspending all screenings and events at the film center until at least mid-April, or longer possibly. We will re-open once local and state health officials say it’s safe.
Despite having recently implemented increased sanitization, social distancing, etc. the Film Society believes the best course of action at this time is a temporary closure.
The following options are available for patrons who have already purchased tickets to canceled or postponed screenings in March:
- We will automatically refund your ticket(s) you purchased to your credit card within days unless you tell us to “Wait” until we reschedule that event in April (42nd Street, Frida, etc).
- If you purchase using cash, please contact Michael at firstname.lastname@example.org to get a refund by mailed check.
We understand that circumstances will likely remain fluid in the coming weeks. We will adapt accordingly in consultation with health officials and remain committed to the safety and best interests of our staff (who will all be paid their normal wages during the closure) and audience members, and we will continue to share updates in the days and weeks ahead via email and social media.
As a non-profit organization, MV Film Society’s mission is to create experiences that bring people together to discover extraordinary films from around the world. While we can’t currently gather in person, we hope that once you feel it’s safe to do so again, you’ll join us at the MV Film Center.
Our best wishes go out to our extended family of members and film-goers who have been impacted by the virus throughout our country and the world, and we hope that those who are ill make a speedy and full recovery.
See you at the movies,
