Commentary by members of the Martha’s Vineyard Fishermen’s Preservation Trust
The road to extinction is paved with good intentions.
ARTIFISHAL is a film about people, rivers, and the fight for the future of wild fish and the environment that supports them. It explores wild salmon’s slide toward extinction, threats posed by fish hatcheries and fish farms, and our continued loss of faith in nature.
The Martha’s Vineyard Fishermen’s Preservation Trust
The Martha’s Vineyard Fishermen’s Preservation Trust is a Massachusetts non-profit established to (i) Preserve the historic fishing fleets, communities, and economies of Martha’s Vineyard; (ii) Protect the marine populations and fishing grounds off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard and New England; (iii) Educate the community about its local fisheries. We work to support the island’s small-boat, family fishermen, and their sustainably harvested catch.
