When melancholic construction worker Dan finds himself drifting from his wife and daughter, he discovers community and purpose in a local theater’s production of Romeo and Juliet. As the drama onstage starts to mirror his own life, he and his family are forced to confront a personal loss.

GHOSTLIGHT made its world premiere on January 18, 2024 at the 40th Annual Sundance Film Festival as a part of the festival’s Premieres section, where it was met with enthusiastic acclaim from Park City audiences and critics alike. Thompson and O’Sullivan’s previous film, SAINT FRANCES, received widespread praise on the regional festival circuit and national stage, including nominations from the Film Independent Spirit Awards and The Gotham Awards. The film was a Top Ten Independent Films winner at the National Board of Review and won both the Audience Award and Special Jury Award at SXSW.
