Our building is accessible via the front and rear entrances with ramps in the Tisbury Marketplace.

Our theater has ample ADA accessible seating, and is equipped with a variety of options for patrons that are hard of hearing, d/Deaf, blind, and/or low vision. If you need special assistance with finding a seat please contact us at info@mvfilmsociety.com in advance of you visiting the theater.

Closed Captioning and/or Audio Description will not necessarily be available for all films, but all films do have Assisted Listening (headphones).

At the theatre, the box office and/or projection staff can quickly instruct you on how to use the ADA devices. A pen and paper can be made available for anyone who would rather communicate by writing.

Restrooms

ADA Accessible restrooms are available on the first floor in our lobby just inside our front entrance.

  • Open Captions

Open Captions are a text display of the words, sounds, and speakers’ names in a movie, visible on the screen for everyone to see. Open Captions will be only available for select showtimes.

  • Assisted Listening

Using a small receiver that can be obtained at the box office, the audio track of any film can be broadcast via headphones (borrow a pair from the box office or bring your own). Live movie introductions and post-show discussions done through microphones will also run through the system into these devices.

  • Audio Description

Using the same Assisted Listening device (headphones), audience members can experience visually descriptive narration, which is balanced with the film’s audio so both are heard clearly.

  • Closed Captioning

During select features, Closed Captioning can be displayed and read using a device that fits into the cupholders on each seat in the theater.  It takes about 5 minutes to set-up, so please let us know in advance if you might need this closed capturing device before you enter the theater or email us info@mvfilmsociety.com
