When Mordecai, a Holocaust survivor, portrayed by Academy Award Nominee Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans, Ordinary People) is given a new iPhone, an unexpected series of events upends his world. A heartwarming Miami-set comedy based on a true story. Co-starring Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Rudy) and Academy Award Nominee Carol Kane (Taxi, Hester Street).

“iMordecai is a loving tribute to family, friendship, always evolving and, of course, South Florida.” – Theindepenedentcritic.com

“Samel demonstrates that there’s life and even humor after unspeakable tragedy and that life can keep on giving for those who are up for enjoying the ride.” – Common Sense Media

After the sale of his world renowned cigar company Drew Estate in 2014, Boca Raton resident Marvin Samel should have been on top of the world: he had successfully fulfilled a lifetime dream, and he was a new father to twin girls…when his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In order to help himself work through the pain, he began writing down the memories of his family’s past. These memories were ultimately immortalized in the feature film, iMordecai, Marvin’s love letter to his family. Starring Academy Award Nominees Judd Hirsch and Carol Kane, and screen icon Sean Astin, the film was the winner of the Audience Award for Best Narrative Film at the 2022 Miami Jewish Film Festival.
