SPECTRUM (LGBT+) Film Festival — April 27 to 30, 2017
1st SPECTRUM (LBGT+) Film Festival
(April 27-30, 2017)
Martha’s Vineyard Film Center, Vineyard Haven, MA.
The Martha’s Vineyard Film Society will introduce its newest film festival in April 2017 with the launching of The SPECTRUM Film Festival, “a world perspective on LGBT+ stories, people and issues.” Screening a variety of feature films from around the globe, this new, four-day festival plans to cover issues important to both the LGBT+ community and the community at large.
Drawing from a broad range of film genres, and character perspectives, most of the features chosen for SPECTRUM will be followed by discussions with guest speakers covering a similarly wide range of topics: religion, civil rights, sexual development in the brain, and today’s youth culture. Current plans also include a special Saturday event focused specifically on LGBT+ youth (13-21).
The SPECTRUM Film Festival will be held at the MV Film Center from Thursday, April 27 through Sunday, April 30.
Full event schedules will be announced this Spring.
