Inspired by true stories, a lighthouse keeper’s wife struggles with her work & her sanity as she cares for her sick husband in the 1800’s.  When a stranger washes up on shore, secrets hidden in deep waters come to light, and she is forced to confront both her past and her future.  Shot on an island off the coast of northern Maine, “To Keep the Light” paints a landscape of stark, aching beauty, and reveals the inner life of a woman who is, literally and figuratively, at the edge of society.

ucarecdnThe Trustees was founded in 1891 to preserve, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. We are a nonprofit conservation organization funded and supported entirely by our visitors, supporters, volunteers, and members. The Trustees has helped protect more than 50,000 acres, including 116 reservations that are open to the public. Seven of these reservations are located right here on Martha’s Vineyard.

“Erica Fae has achieved a purity of style, a remarkable sense of place and time, that seems long matured and yet the beginning of something new and exciting... Let To Keep the Light be a warning light for these times, but also enjoy the revelation of a new directing talent.” - Alexandra Pütter, Camera Lucida

"... a gripping portrait... wonderfully mysterious... Fae’s Abbie is an entrancing blend of delicacy and strength, and the cinematography is just stunning." - Santa Fe New Mexican
