A unique multimedia performance with live music chronicles the race to reach the moon.  With rare archival footage and interviews with the major players, astronauts and their families, John Monsky, creator and narrator, takes us inside the capsule and the control room to trace the great rush to the lunar surface. The drama, the success and the terrible risks of the endeavor to put a person on the moon are brought to life in the context of one of the most difficult decades of American history.
Recently featured at the NY Historical Society, “The Young Americans” was deemed the best production to be shown on their stage.  Monsky’s “flag day” events have become renowned multimedia shows related to historic moments in the United States.  John and his wife Jennifer Weis live in New York City with their four children and two dogs. They both have day jobs in the investment and literary worlds respectively.
