The animation showcase will encompass extraordinary animated films curated by Bill from the past year, including his new short film.
Twice Oscar nominated animator Bill Plympton’s showcase reveals a collection of some of the world’s best new short animated films from acclaimed animators. Bill Plympton, a renowned American animator, cartoonist, director, screenwriter and producer is best known for his 1987 Academy Award-nomated short entitled Your Face as well as his series of shorts Guard Dog, Guide Dog, Hot Dog and Horn Dog. A self-made man, Bill Plympton left the rainy days of indoor drawings in Portland Oregon to embark on a career as an independent animator in New York City. Plympton’s illustrations have been published in the New York Times in addition to a myriad of magazines, such as Vogue, Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. Hailed as the king of indie animation, Bill Plympton is especially highly regarded for hand drawing seven full-length feature films.
